Alan L. Bounville is a professional actor and theatre educator whose solo works include CHAINED TO FREEDOM and When People Lead, both of which he is performing during the Into the Light Walk. Along with his two plays, Alan facilitates civil disobedience, social movement and theatre of the oppressed workshops. As a graduate of New York University’s Educational Theatre program, Alan uses his popular education training to the benefit of the gender expression, gender identity and sexual orientation movements. A proponent of direct action including civil disobedience, he has engaged in actions like a water-only fast, arrest-risk actions, sleeping on the street demanding full civil rights for queer people and now walking 6,000 miles from Seattle to Washington DC for gender and sexual orientation equality.
